Firenze Day 2 Continued

After coming down the hill and getting an aqua frizzante for 1 euro at the machine next to the W.C. located at the park (the cheapest I've seen water here) we headed to the Museo Galileo.  It looked so cool but was closed on Tuesday afternoons after 2 PM.  It was 3 PM when we got there. Boooo.  But there was still cool stuff outside.  Yaaaaaayyyy!

There was another solar meridian outside.  I have to say, every time I see one of these I feel so Dan Brown's Angels & Demons and look for codes and symbols everywhere.

Since that was closed we headed into the Museo for Dante.  It's a small museum and there was a big all boys school group headed through on a field trip.  I think they were from the Netherlands.  They all had the Netherlands flag on their jackets.

Here are some illuminated pages.  The artwork is so beautiful.

Part of me wishes books still looked this pretty -- but I know it would make books unaffordable and I've prefer people to be educated because they can afford to get their hands on books than to have pretty books and the majority of the population uneducated.  Still, they're preeeetttty.
