My favorite surprise of the day was going to the cathedral next to the leaning Tower of Pisa. As we entered this swarm of blue coats came into the church. The first thought was "Oh boy, a school group." But what ended up happening is that they all moved to the back to church. The area was roped off for anyone not in a blue coat. And then, this happened...
and this happened too...
Afterwards I approached one of the adults in the blue jacket and separately one of the youth. It turns out they are from Kansas City and are touring Italy singing in cathedrals across the country in mini concerts.
